A little bird told me that car insurance prices are going up again this year - both in Ireland and in other EU countries.
It is slightly against the common sense; the usual logic used to be: "No claims? We'll reward you with a lower premium next year!".
Not anymore, unfortunately.
For some totally incomprehensible reasons (greed? risk miscalculation? law changes? - no idea, really) insurance premiums go steeply up year on year; it is already a miracle for a young driver to find a decent, three digit annual insurance offer.
There's a popular joke describing the situation, recently very popular amongst local Polish community:
Insurance ad:
"Buy our insurance, get the car gratis!"
I'd laugh at it but suddenly I'm realizing it is not funny at all.
